Hair:
You’re going to find a trend amongst my vendors, so I’ll just come out and say it. I knew almost every single vendor that we used for our wedding. I love supporting my friends on Instagram and supporting people that I know in my real life, too. My vendors came from all walks of life and these two girls are no different!
For hair, we went with my sisters good friend from high school who was also a mutual friend of mine. We didn’t hang much in high school, but when I saw she became a hair dresser, I couldn’t wait to see if she did weddings. She came over to my apartment for a trial and I absolutely loved it.
Pro tip: If you are doing a trial, plan it on a night where you already have plans. I had my makeup trial on Friendsgiving and my hair trial on our friend Christmas party. Neither were a trial wasted 😉
Cheyenne (@a_touch_of_chey on Instagram) did our hair and we asked for curls and boho braids/twists! She was able to do all 11 of us by herself which was amazing because we didn’t have to pay for an additional stylist.
She is offering FREE TRAVEL for DFW brides! You can just mention this post if you reach out to her!
Makeup Team:
As for makeup, this team is just so special to me as well. I just adore Brittany (@brittanyjonesbeauty on Instagram) and although she was booked for my date, her fabulous team was able to do our makeup. We had Kaitlyn and Jen as our artists and I met both before and had my makeup done by Kaitlyn at a shoot I was on with Brittany and her team.
I was VERY particular about makeup. I think it’s so important to look like a more “wedding” version of yourself and not to be too glammed out that no one can recognize you. They did an amazing job of keeping us natural, fresh and glam!
She is also offering a discount. It will be a case-by-case basis, so just reach out and tell her what all you need and she will work with you to figure out a discount!
Budget:
This is where it gets tricky for everyone. For me, I had a conversation with my bridesmaids about what they’d be willing to spend and if they even wanted their hair and makeup done for the wedding. All of them wanted both, so then we talked about a budget that worked for everyone. We decided that $150 (including tip) would be a fair price for both services. From there, what I did was just pay the difference. There are definitely artists that are more affordable in DFW that you can go for, but for me, the price was well worth it to know what I am getting for the money we spent.
I also loved that everyone had their hair and makeup done because it made us look like a unit. It was so special to all be together getting ready and glammed before the wedding.
