I am so excited that you landed here today! This is my most requested wedding blog post yet! I can’t wait to share all of the details from our shower. I will break up the categories by: food, decor, what I wore and Q+A. I will also be sharing a registry post soon, so keep an eye out for that.
Food:

We had all sorts of bite-sized appetizers. From cheese boards (check out my cheese board post here), spinach and artichoke dip, crackers and dips, assorted nuts, etc. All of those were more “grazeable” than the others. The others are listed below with links to similar recipes!
Sausage wontons recipe here.
Crockpot meatball recipe here.
Mini pizza recipe here.
Sweets:

My good friend Caroline makes the personalized cookies. She does an incredible job; you can order here. Alex’s sister made us homemade macaroons. I seriously cannot believe how talented she is and they were delicious.
My sister did the rest of the sweets and just made some assorted cupcakes and cookie/brownie bars.
What I Wore:

You can shop the rest of my look below, but the dress I wore is sold out, so I linked a similar option. I absolutely loved it and everything I wore is true to size!
Decor:
Now, before I even go into the decorations from our shower, I have to give the biggest shout out and thanks to my Maid of Honor, Bryn for everything she did for this. She goes above and beyond and is a total perfectionist when it comes to party-planning. She is the most detail-oriented person I know and she leaves NOTHING untouched. I will link everything that is linkable below and the rest I will share where she had made.

The hanging sign is from Blushing Drops. You can shop it here. We loved this size (large instead of giant) for our shower and will be hanging it again at our rehearsal dinner. They have so many options to customize on their website and are affordable for a piece of wedding decor that can be used for multiple occasions throughout your engagement.

The cups and napkins were made by Rubi and Lib. You can shop them here. We had extra napkins and we will be using them at our rehearsal dinner as well. My tip is to keep them general, like ours said “savannah and alex” so that if you have extra you can use them again.

The grand balloon arch was made by my sweet coworker, Kim. She is so talented and has the MOST competitive pricing. If you are planning a birthday, NYE, wedding shower, etc. party you NEED to call her! You message her on Instagram here.

The calligraphy balloon is from Lushra who I also adore and love so so much. You can shop that here; they also have party decor that you can order on their website here.

As for all the photos and the welcome sign, she had those printed at Costco and the total for the three big photos, the small “Brews before I Do’s” sign and the welcome sign was all printed for $70. This would be a great option for printing photos to be displayed at your wedding.
The greenery was fake, but she sprinkled in some baby’s breath to make it look more realistic and all the roses were from Trader Joe’s. Yall know I love me some TJ’s for affordable flowers. Friendly reminder you can make your girlfriend’s day for a low, low cost of $7.99 😉
Take Home Gifts:

We quickly (I mean the day-of) made a little DIY gift for our guests to take home. I bought these disco ball ornaments from Hobby Lobby and my sister hand wrote the thank you note and we just tied them up and made a little ornament. You could also print and cut these out on cardstock!
Q + A:
How many people were invited/came? We invited around 60 people and 40ish came. We invited our bridal/groom parties and their significant others and our family as well as a few other close friends who are not in our wedding.
What games did you play? We played the famous shoe game. My MOH had these printed so people could fill them in and guess and the winner got a $20 Amazon gift card. Shout out to Nick, Alex’s brother for knowing us the best 😉
Did people send gifts from the registry or random gifts? We were so shocked and are so grateful to have received so many amazing gifts. All gifts were from our registry.
How much should you spend on a couple’s shower versus the wedding gift if invited to both? All of this depends on your personal budget. For me, I think something around the $40-$50 range is very appropriate for a shower and $80-$100 for the gift depending on who you are buying for.
Who hosted your shower? Our parents did the food and alcohol and my maid-of-honor did all of the decor.
Any tips on fitting a larger crowd inside? Move around furniture to help accommodate people, let there be food and drinks in multiple spaces so everyone isn’t forced to be gathered in one area if they want to graze.
Have you found a place to order custom wedding signs? Tons on Etsy, but a friend of mine does custom signs as well and she is so incredibly talented, her shop is called Cramer + Co and you can shop her items here.
Where is the “it was always you” sign from? It’s from Blushing Drops and I LOVED it so much that we’re using it at our rehearsal dinner too.
Were you involved at all in the planning process? I was not included other than I chose the theme and shared that I wanted a ton of appetizers as the food. I was just as surprised as you were to see all the details together. It was absolutely stunning and WAY more than I could’ve ever imagined!
Will you be having a bridal shower? Yes, I am hoping to have a bridal brunch with all my fave ladies! We will see, the countdown is really on, so if time permits then I would love to!
If you made it this far, you rock and I love you! Thank you for reading. Above all the “things” we are just so thankful to have the people in our lives that we do. We feel so loved and so grateful for the blessing of this shower!
