The Ultimate Giveaway
I have entered a few giveaways a month for as long as I can remember. Years. I don’t know why, but if I am bored and scrolling through Instagram, I will always enter because I know many giveaway winners are selected randomly and I always want to give myself a shot. I remember when I was in college and just starting my blog, there was a huge giveaway for a DSLR camera and a Macbook (I didn’t own either) and I thought to myself “if I win this, I am going to be a ‘big time’ blogger because I will have all of the resources I need, haha!) I will tell you, when I entered this PACSUN giveaway, I thought there was absolutely no way I would have a shot at winning…AND THEN I DID. Literally the best giveaway I have ever entered and I WON! This is all that was included: flights from DFW to LAX and back home, a massive Uber gift card so we were able to get around, a hotel stay with the rest of the PACSUN team and influencers, tickets into Coachella, tickets to the Bootsy Bellows x McDonalds party, an invite to brunch with influencers and the Pacsun team and a bed full of free clothes and food waiting for us upon arrival.
We are SO thankful to Pacsun for making this happen because we had an unforgettable weekend. From seeing celebrities just hanging at the party, to frolicking through the fields of Coachella, it was a weekend I will never forget.
I wanted to share some Coachella tips with you in case you go in the future and need some advice:
- Pack a backpack. Big or small, you will want something to carry on your back to put all of your belongings in. Especially if you are going with a more fashionable look, this is a good way to carry a comfy pair of shoes for when you need it.
- The road into the festival is a little more than a mile long. You will want to either bring tennis shoes or bring cash for the pedi-cabs. They were $10 per person to and from the festival, but you have to take about 4 to get all the way in. We would ride one and then walk for the next quarter of a mile. On the way out of the festival (especially on the last day) we took every single pedi-cab that we could find! They are worth every penny when your feet are that sore and you just want to get to your Uber.
- Bring a bandana to cover your face from the dust. With all of the bikes riding around and people walking- dust gets kicked up everywhere. You will thank me later for this one.
- Expect Uber to take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to get in and out of the festival to Palm Springs. Most people choose to stay in Palm Springs (which is great because it’s so beautiful!), but taking Uber’s to and from the festival means you will wait in car lines. We paid anywhere from $35-$75 for an Uber each way. They capped the surge at 2.5x the normal rate, so we luckily didn’t experience any ride higher than $75.
- Food prices are reasonable and they accept cards and cash. Katie and I both had some cash and our cards just in case either were needed. Water bottles were $2 each. We paid anywhere from $5-$15 per meal, but we felt everything was reasonable priced for sure. Especially when you consider the exotic foods that some of their tents offer!
- This tip is really just if you are planning to fly back home from LAX. It is a “two hour” drive from Palm Springs to Los Angeles on a typical day, however, we sat in 4 hours of traffic on the way to Palm Springs and almost 6 hours of traffic on the way home. This being said, plan on half a day to travel to and from the airport when you book your tickets. We had to fly into LAX because the flights into Palm Springs were $1,500+ per person.
Above is a little video montage that Katie put together from Coachella! I’m so glad we have some video footage to remember this trip by.
As always, if you have any questions about today’s post or anything in general, I am always here to chat! Have an amazing weekend!
