I’m the girl that doesn’t like to go on cruises because I want to spend all my time in the “fun” place, whatever place that may be…so trust me when I say that I never like spending less than 48 hours in a specific vacation spot. Except every time I go to a new city for only a few days, I end up having the best weekend EVER! I’m going to break down everything we did, ate, and also give you all of the details the most fabulous resort that we stayed at.
Let’s start with where we stayed because it is typically the first thing you book when planning your trip. I actually reached out to work with a few hotels while in Scottsdale, because I want to start adding some more travel to my blog. I was seriously crossing my fingers that The Andaz would respond, and y’all…they did! Here are some of the details:
When we first pulled up to The Andaz, the bungalows immediately caught my eye. I was seriously in awe at how beautiful the property was. So many palm trees, cacti and the most gorgeous landscaping you have ever seen. The pictures for sure speak for themselves.

Farm and Craft [brunch]
This is your farm to table goodness! Katie was like “we need to try somewhere healthy” and this was the best choice we could’ve made. I had an acai bowl and a side of turkey bacon. Katie ordered the breakfast burrito and a pressed juice! We give this place five stars!
Diego Pops [lunch]
Diego Pops is the restaurant that pops up all over Pinterest when you search for good eats in Scottsdale and Phoenix! We loveeeeeeed this spot! The inside is just as cute as the outside and the atmosphere is so much fun. We went during happy hour and ordered margs and tacos. We actually ordered the same two tacos: grilled adobo chicken and braised pineapple pork. Next time we want to try the prickly pear margarita!
Postino [dinner and happy hour]
If I could eat this meal for every dinner for the rest of my life…I seriously would. I asked Katie if we could go back the next night but she insisted we try something new. I can’t even describe how amazing these bites were! We decided to just get a few appetizers as our meal and it was the best decision ever. We got the cheese board, olive appetizer, caprese salad and the bruschetta board (my favorite part). You absolutely have to check this place out and sit on the patio near the fire place.
Sugarbowl [diner food & milkshakes]
This little diner was the cutest spot for our sweet tooth. We split a vanilla milkshake and it was the perfect amount! We saw some people with decked out milkshakes so that is also an option if you go here!
Other places to eat:
Wow Wow Lemonade: a cute spot for an afternoon pick me up in the form of flavored lemonades. We are so sad that we didn’t have the time to go here because this was at the top of our list.
The Henry: the place all the locals say we didn’t need to visit, but Pinterest said we did. We didn’t ever make it to this part of town until the last day and we were running behind for our flight.
Sumomaya: sushi!!!! We heard great things about this place and Katie wanted to go one night but I just couldn’t crave sushi.
La Grande Orange: another one that pinterest recommended for us but we didn’t make it to.
Olive & Ivy: we got this recommendation from girls that were eating at Postino that were all super cute and enjoying happy hour. They said this would be a fun spot for dinner!
W H E R E T O S T A Y:
Y’all. The Andaz Resort is the most beautiful place in the continental United States. I really am convinced that my last sentence is a true statement. I am going to search far and wide to find a prettier property than this, but I really don’t know if I will find it. It was the most peaceful yet energizing weekend, ever! We loved every…single…detail! We were greeted in our cute little bungalow with this tray of goodies! They made our stay so memorable. Here are a few of our favorite moments…
The pool at The Andaz made for a fun mid-afternoon hangout. We ordered ceviche, nachos and grilled chicken with fries and just split the whole lunch between us girls. We also got some pool side drinks (duh). They had the best playlist going and we did not want to leave this view for anything.
Meet Nora. We were actually the first to ride in Nora because The Andaz just got her in the week we got there. I think she is now available for rides around town! You can also catch a ride in one of the properties Tesla’s. Either one you choose will surely be better than catching an Uber! Our sunset cruise in Nora was my favorite part of staying at The Andaz.
Breakfast in bed can only be made better with retro sunglasses and your bestie. We’re convinced it’s really the only way to do breakfast 😉 We ordered room service from Weft + Warp and that was definitely a yummy decision. Our recommendation is to get the fruit and the puff pastry!
T H I N G S T O D O:
Hike camel back mountain: we heard there is a moderate and advanced hike for this mountain, but it is literally minutes from Scottsdale.
Go to the botanical gardens: we stopped for every cacti that we saw on the side of the road, but I think most people opt for the gardens so you don’t have to stop traffic and get honked at whilst taking your nature photos.
Shop/Eat in Old’s Town: this was the one recommendation we heard over and over again, but we had our own eating agenda haha.
Catch a baseball game: we were in Scottsdale in the midst of spring training and who doesn’t love a good all American game?!
Take a road trip: or if you’re anything like us, you can drive the entire state in less than a week and discover all that Arizona (and maybe even Utah lol) has to offer! We loved every minute we spent in the car because the scenery in the entire state was so beautiful and unique. We 10/10 recommend a good road trip.
