Dress | Top in same print | Shoes
It’s Mumu Monday! My favorite day of the week 😉 The main reason I love Show Me Your Mumu is for the fun prints and bright colors. I am constantly attracted to their clothing during spring and summer months. This dress is no different, I loveeeee it!
Today on the blog I wanted to talk about why I chose “The Trendy Gal” as my new blog name because I feel like I haven’t really covered this and it was a somewhat sudden switch.
When did this all begin?
When I started blogging in 2015, I really didn’t know what to expect. I knew that I wanted some form of a creative platform to express myself on and I knew that I wanted it to include all the things I love and am passionate about. When I chose my blog name, I had ZERO clue about what the blogging market looked like at the time, I had no clue about niches or audiences, I didn’t know that I should probably have a focus of my blog in order to attract people, I didn’t have anything specific…it was just me writing about whatever I wanted to write about with some subpar photography.
Why the sudden change?
When I started to really get into this whole blogger-sphere, I realized that not only was “Simply Savannah” not original, it also didn’t fit me as a person or blogger WHAT SO EVER… If you have known me even for 10 minutes, you will know what I mean here. I am the least simple person you will probably ever meet. I am all over the place! Like seriously, I am the most organized hot mess you will ever meet in your life. And I hated being defined to the word “simple”. But then again I felt like I owed it to myself to dig my heels in deep and keep up with the name since it is what I had chose for myself.
It wasn’t until I started to feel a lack of creative inspiration that I decided something had to change. And again, if you know me at all you know I am either 0% or 100%. So not only did I change my blog name, I also changed hosting websites/switched to WordPress and got a complete makeover for the blog. I was so nervous about what this would do and if I would really like The Trendy Gal forever. It’s kind of like if you adopted a child and then a year later decided to change it’s name. Like you can’t just do that haha! These are the things I think about… But anyway, this transition happened over the course of 4 days after having never seen what WordPress even looked like. I cried a few times, spent wayyyyyy to many hours stressing about if you would like it, and then decided I just had go for it. So here we are [and I really hope you like it by the way hehe]!
The Trendy Gal?
I knew for awhile that I wanted my blog name to change, I just never knew what exactly I wanted it to be. One day after class I was drinking a Starbucks Carmel Macchiato and I was shaking with jitters from the coffee & sugar and I seriously just started searching for inspiration. I checked Pinterest, my own closet, brands I dream of working with some day…and that is when it hit me. Everything I love and everything I center my posts around is what is on trend. Unlike the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s the 2000’s seem to not have a “style”. Our new style seems to revolve around different trends and the trends are constantly changing! I was so inspired by The Trendy Gal that I knew this was the choice for me. I wanted my blog to be a source of constant changing but similar content. I cannot wait to be back in Dallas so I can truly show you what I am going to do with my weekly Trend Reports. We are going to talk about so many subjects together and I hope to bring you all of the newest trends and allow you to expand your closet by shopping affordable trends with me by your side hehe!
Maybe this is your first time to my blog and you have no idea what I am even talking about, but if you’re one of the OG blog readers, then you know there was a huge change in the past month. I am thankful for anyone that is here on TTG today! Thank you for spending your Monday reading my post. I am so excited to take this blog to the next level and I am more excited that you’re joining me for the ride!
