College game day is one of the most anticipated times of the year for college students. Parents and alumni from across the nation pack up their cars and make the trek toward their beloved campuses. For me and my friends? We bleed orange. Our game days start bright and early as we prepare for a long and usually tiring day. There are a few things to keep in mind when visiting a college or even preparing for your own schools’ game day. You will need a closet full of your teams colors. This is important because unlike high school, everyone will be spirited for the games. Girls, get creative. You don’t have to buy a spirit dress from your on campus store because everyone will have those. I like to stick with simple pieces that can be re-worn. Our school colors are orange and black, so I like to get a few black tops and bottoms, and a few orange tops and accessories. For any school, you will have at least one neutral color, so you should already have some items in your closet. A lot of the time, I just wear a plain black dress or romper and add orange through a purse or jewelry. Some pieces I have been eyeing are here and here. I don’t really like to wear pieces that say “Oklahoma State” or “OSU” because I find that the colored clothes are usually cuter and everyone will know who you are rooting based on the colors you are wearing. Check Pinterest for tailgate food and drink ideas. Mine is linked at the bottom of the page and I have a board for College Game Day. Enjoy!
